Konica and Minolta individually were major global brands with a successful record of approximately 100 years each in the imaging technology marketplace. In the 1970's, these major global companies moved into the copier marketplace which evolved into copier/printer technology and, again, were significant major global players both residing in the top 5 brands in the world. In 2003, Konica and Minolta announced a global merger with the objective of combining their core values and technologies to create a structure enabling an unrivalled, competitive global offering to its customers. From 2003 onwards, the stated objectives of the new combined company have been exceeded, as the technology is truly leading edge, offering our customers excellent products, easy to use and at great value. Reliability and functionality has never been better and we are pleased to confirm that Konica Minolta is now number one in Europe for colour with its BizHub range.

Topaz, for the first 16 years, dealt exclusively with legacy Konica Corporation and enjoyed significant success with Konica. The merger of these 2 great companies has further strengthened the confidence we have in offering customers Konica Minolta products. As part of this re-organisation, to ensure a greater focus in the copier/printer MFD marketplace, in 2006, the market leading Camera and Film Division transferred to the Sony Corporation. As a result of this significant change, Konica Minolta Corporation now focuses purely on the copier/printer sector as its main business arena, along with specialist, niche markets such as optical and medical.
